The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on the use of lodging tax funds. There is a 3.3% lodging tax in the City of Liberty Lake and those funds are used for the cost of tourism promotion, acquisition of tourism-related facilities, and operations of tourism-related facilities. The Liberty Lake Advisory Committee shall be composed of five members appointed by the mayor with confirmation by the City Council. Two members of the Committee shall be representatives of businesses required to collect the tax, and at least two members shall be persons involved in activities authorized to be funded by the collected revenue. The fifth member of the Committee shall be an elected official of the city. Annually, the membership of the Committee shall be reviewed.
