The City owns about 20 acres of land which is located on Liberty Lake Rd. A good use for this land might be to create a disc golf course. The baskets at Pavilion park could be relocated as disc golfers don't really use those.
DG courses are inexpensive, have a low environmental impact, low cost maintenance and don't impact the landscape. It takes about 1 acre per hole for the average course, So, an 18 hole might fit. Even a 9 hole course would be great if that is needed to provide for other trails, parking, and keep it away from houses.
It is a great, low-cost, outdoor activity for all ages. Many local players travel to the valley or post falls. It would be great to have one in LL.
If that parcel doesn't work, maybe others can recommend another location in Liberty Lake.

Like the clear kind. It will not only be beautiful but it will make it not so dark in the winter months for walkers and their dogs. There are a lot of towns I lived in that have done this. It really is quite beautiful and welcoming.

Every great community stands to benefit from the inclusiveness of the neighborhoods that it encompasses. One such contribution to the Liberty Lake Community would be to develop a Neighborhood Association.
Creating, sustaining, or maintaining a Neighborhood Association would be worth its weight in gold, for a growing bedroom community, such as Liberty Lake.
It would be a win, win for a city that prides itself on being one city, one community.

To support the growth and longevity of the community and invite participation and a voice from it's members, a Community Engagement Committee as proposed by Councilmember Annie Kurtz would create a collaboration between the community and the city.
People support that which they help to create and working together as a collective lightens the load for the individuals and equips us all to drive the spirit and citizenship of our community.
We have a wealth of citizens in our community who bring experience, ingenuity, and wisdom and desire to apply it to the service of Liberty Lake. It should not, and does not have to fall on the shoulder of the council alone to make all of the magic happen for our community. We can be a part of the solution and sustainability of the culture we desire to create.
Allowing the creation of such an endeavor would create more opportunities for our community and businesses to thrive.
