[ARCHIVED] Construction occurring during June to close slip lane on N. Liberty Lake Road

Road construction started on Wednesday, May 31, to permanently close the southbound slip lane on North Liberty Lake Road across from Walgreen's.  The slip lane that once allowed drivers to turn east into the parking area between Walgreen's and McDonald's has been closed since 2021 following a few accidents and several near misses.  

The former turning lane will be replaced by an approximate 150-foot extension of the center lane's planter area.  The revision will allow for a safer and longer cueing lane to I-90 during peak hours that will reduce traffic congestion.

Construction is scheduled to be finished toward the end of June.  One lane of North Liberty Lake Road in each direction will be closed during portions the work.  Please watch for flaggers in the area and follow the posted speed limit.
