Meet the Golf Pro - Mollie Thola
How long have you been playing golf? I've been playing for about 30 years.
- How did you get your start with the sport? I got started through my parents. My brother and I started because my parents played. My mother was the real athlete.
- What other sports do you participate in? I teach ice skating in the wintertime and also power-skating for hockey.
- How did you determine that you'd like to coach people? Well I was teaching ice skating and thought my dream would be to teach golf in the summer and teach ice skating in the winter.
- What is your favorite thing about the sport of golf? It's a life sport. You can play at any age as long as you want to and it's something you can do your whole life. With golf, you can be at any level; you can be a pro and play against a beginner and still have fun and still be in the game. You're really playing more against yourself than against someone else.
- What is your educational background? I graduated from High School. I taught ice skating right out of high school and taught competitive skating in Canada for five years. When I came back I needed a job, so I began teaching golf.
- Anything else you'd like to add? Well, the best thing about Trailhead is that it's kid & family oriented. It's a place where families can come and play together and be together--it's filling a great niche. I'm also very grateful to be a part of it.
