The results of the August 2nd election are in and Mayor Peterson and City Council want to thank the 2661 + residents that cast their ballots. The approval to pass the bond fell short of the 60% needed for Town Square to move forward. The election results are still being updated but currently 56.2% ( or 1494) supported the project and 43.8 (or 1167) voted to not support the project.
The Council will be discussing the Town Square project at their retreat on August 16th @ 6:30 pm at City Hall. We’ll provide more information as it becomes available. Always feel free to call City Hall at 755-6700 if you need more information or email the Mayor/City Council at email@example.com to share your comments!
The City has planned for a $12M design and construction budget. It is important to the City that this project reflects the values and ideals of our community. The pictures above show the conceptual design in preparation of an August 2nd, 2016 bond vote. The project is located on the vacant portion of land at Town Square Park and includes three main parts:
1. Community Building (flexible space, library services)
2. Aquatic facility (lap swim, spray features, zero entry)
3. Site work (parking, landscaping)
The contractor and designer for this project are Graham and Barker-Rinker-Seacat, respectively.
